Made with intention.
Blackwood Collective is a Sunshine Coast based joinery and furniture workshop founded by craftsman Gareth Robertson.
What began with a love of making has grown into a small team delivering detailed residential and commercial projects across South East Queensland and beyond.
Our approach sits somewhere between traditional craftsmanship and modern joinery. We care about how something is made, how it feels within a space and how it will live there over time.
Collaboration is a big part of what we do. We work closely with architects, designers and builders to understand the intent behind a project, then bring it to life with considered detailing, quality materials and a furniture maker's eye.
FURNITURE
Furniture made to stay.
Our furniture collection grew from the same approach we bring to our architectural work: good materials, simple forms and details that reveal themselves over time.
Designed and made in our Moffat Beach workshop, each piece is made in small numbers with an emphasis on solid timber, craftsmanship and longevity.
Alongside the collection, we work with architects, designers and private clients on custom furniture and one off commissions.
COMMERCIAL
Joinery and furniture with a sense of place.
Our commercial work brings together architectural joinery, custom furniture and detailed timber work for hospitality, workplace and public spaces.
We work collaboratively with architects, designers and builders to create pieces that respond to the character of a space, from larger joinery packages through to one off furniture and feature pieces.
As a proud Lardil man, Gareth also contributes to First Nations led projects, creating bespoke furniture and crafted pieces for corporate and public spaces.
Our work spans hospitality, workplace, public and cultural spaces throughout Queensland and interstate.
RESIDENTIAL
Architectural joinery for considered homes.
We create bespoke joinery for architecturally designed homes and renovations, working closely with architects, interior designers, builders and homeowners from the early detailing stages through to installation.
Kitchens, wardrobes, vanities, bars and feature joinery are approached as part of the architecture, considered in proportion, material and detail, and made specifically for the space they belong to.
